Project 1: Rancho Los Cerritos: Strategic Master Plan
Cuomo and Associates’ Strategic Master Plan for Rancho Los Cerritos successfully established a comprehensive framework for preserving and strengthening the historic site while supporting its future growth. The plan addresses the stewardship of Rancho’s 4.7 historic gardens, restoration of historic infrastructure, accessibility and safety improvements, visitor facilities, site operations, and expanded public engagement. Its recommendations provide a coordinated path for improving the visitor experience, supporting staff and volunteers, and protecting the property’s cultural, environmental, and historical resources.

Project 2: Education Master Plan
Cuomo and Associates also created an Education Master Plan to expand Rancho Los Cerritos’ impact as a center for learning and community engagement. The plan builds on the success of the Adelante field-trip program, which served 4,715 students in 2024–25; 93% of student groups could identify people connected to Rancho Los Cerritos after their tour, 98% of student learning objectives were achieved, and all participating teachers agreed that the program aligned with content standards. The Education Master Plan further supports initiatives such as the five-workshop Water Matters LB environmental curriculum, which explores environmental justice, water sustainability, climate change, and the history of water for local middle- and high-school students.
